About

Work From Home Picks is an independent review site for people who spend most of their working day at a desk inside their own house. We test, photograph, and write about the gear that actually changes how a home office feels — chairs, desks, monitor arms, lighting, keyboards, webcams, and the small accessories that quietly make or break an eight-hour workday.

Why We Started This Site

The site began in 2024 after years of working remotely and watching friends, family, and former colleagues make the same expensive mistakes we did. They would spend hundreds of dollars on a desk that wobbled, a chair that hurt their back by the second week, or a webcam that made every video call look like a hostage situation. The information that would have saved them was scattered across hundreds of forum threads, sponsored YouTube reviews, and Amazon listings written by the manufacturers themselves.

We wanted one place that did the homework for you, in plain English, without pretending every product is a winner. If something is overpriced, uncomfortable, or built poorly, we say so. If a budget option outperforms a premium one, we say that too.

Who Writes for Work From Home Picks

Our editorial team is made up of full-time remote workers, freelance writers, and former office professionals who made the switch to working from home and never looked back. Between us we have more than fifteen years of collective remote work experience across software, design, customer support, and content production. We have set up home offices in apartments, basements, spare bedrooms, garage conversions, and shared kitchen-table arrangements, so we understand that not everyone has a dedicated studio with perfect natural light.

How We Choose and Review Products

Every roundup on this site starts the same way: we research dozens of products in a category, narrow the list down based on real-world feedback from owners (not just star ratings), and then focus on the handful that genuinely stand out. We read teardown reviews from technical sites, comb through one-star Amazon reviews to understand failure modes, and check warranty terms before recommending anything.

When possible, we test products ourselves. When testing every single SKU is not realistic — which is honest to admit in categories with dozens of options — we are transparent about which products we have used personally and which we have evaluated through documentation, manufacturer specifications, and verified owner reviews.

How We Make Money

Work From Home Picks is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click a product link on this site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is the only revenue source that keeps the site running, and we want to be upfront about it.

What this does not mean: it does not mean we recommend products because they pay more in commission, or that brands pay us to write favorable reviews. We do not accept paid placements, and no manufacturer has any input into what we publish. You can read the full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Our Editorial Standards

  • Honesty over enthusiasm. If a product has real drawbacks, they go in the review next to the praise.
  • No paid placements. Position in a list is based on merit, not on commission rate.
  • Regular updates. Roundups are reviewed and updated as new products launch and old ones go out of stock.
  • Plain language. No jargon for its own sake, no inflated word counts, no padding.
