Work From Home Picks believes in full transparency with our readers about how this site is funded. This page explains our affiliate relationships in plain language, in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and the operating agreements of the affiliate programs we participate in.
Amazon Associates Disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Work From Home Picks is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
What This Means for You
When you click on a product link on this site and make a purchase on Amazon (or any other retailer we partner with), we may receive a small commission on that sale. This costs you absolutely nothing extra. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone directly to Amazon. The commission is paid by the retailer out of their own marketing budget, not out of your pocket.
These commissions are the primary way Work From Home Picks generates revenue. They cover hosting, research time, photography, the products we buy to test, and everything else that goes into producing the site. Without them, the site could not exist in its current form.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Reviews
The short answer: they do not.
We want to be very clear about this because it matters. Our editorial decisions — which products we recommend, how we rank them, what we say about their strengths and weaknesses — are made independently of any commission considerations. Specifically:
- We do not accept payment for favorable reviews. No brand or manufacturer can pay us to be included in a roundup or to receive a positive rating.
- Commission rates do not influence rankings. A product that pays a higher affiliate commission does not get a better placement than one that pays less. Position is based on merit.
- We disclose criticism honestly. If a product has real drawbacks, we write about them, even if we are linking to it.
- Negative reviews are still published. When a popular product underperforms in our evaluation, we say so, even though it might cost us commissions.
How to Identify Affiliate Links on This Site
The vast majority of outbound product links on Work From Home Picks — including “buy” buttons, product names, and prices — are affiliate links. Rather than trying to mark each one individually (which would clutter every article), we use this disclosure to tell you up front that you should assume any link pointing to Amazon or another major retailer is an affiliate link.
If we ever recommend a product that we have no affiliate relationship with, we do not earn anything from your purchase — we just think it is the right recommendation.
Other Affiliate Programs
In addition to Amazon Associates, we may participate in other affiliate programs offered by retailers and manufacturers whose products we review. The same standards apply to every affiliate relationship: commissions never influence our editorial judgment.
Sponsored Content
Work From Home Picks does not publish sponsored posts, paid placements, or “advertorial” content disguised as editorial. If this ever changes, any sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such at the top of the post.
